Mount of Olives Hotel

The Mount of Olives is an affordable, family-run hotel situated in the heart of Jerusalem's historical/Biblical center. The hotel was established in 1960 around the home of the Khweis family which is presently used as the Internet Cafe. In addition, the hotel has a pleasant sitting and dining room which seats over 80 people at one setting and can accommodate groups of over 100 guests.

The majority of customers are pilgrims who come from all over the world to be near the areas where Jesus lived. Indeed. the Mount of Olives Hotel is literally surrounded by famous churches and holy sites commemorating important historical events mentioned in the Bible including the Chapel of the Ascension, the Garden of Gethsemene, the Tomb of the Virgin Mary, the Pater Noster Church, the Tomb of the Prophets, Dominus Flevit, and the spectacular Russian Orthodox Church of Saint Mary Magdalene with its seven golden cupolas making it one of Jerusalem's most distinctive landmarks.

All of our 55 rooms are basic and afforable with an en suite bath/shower, central heat, air-conditioning, a room safe, a telephone, and comfortable beds. The hotel has public computers for Internet access and Wi-Fi for laptops throughout the facility. Our breakfast buffet is open from 6:00 - 9:00 am and serves a wide variety of healthy local foods including many options for vegetarians and vegans. Daily tours, airport transfers, taxis, mobile phone & car rentals can all be booked at front desk.

The hotel is situated atop the highest point in Jerusalem in the A-Tur neighborhood. As a result, many millions of tourists come to the Mount of Olives to experience the iconic view the Old City, visit the ancient Churches and take photographs of the magnificient Dome of the Rock. Indeed, it is fair to say that the Mount of Olives Hotel and its environs has the single best view of Jerusalem from any vantage point in the city.

Public transportation to and from Damascus Gate runs daily until approximately 9:00 p.m. Afterwards, it is possible to either walk or take a private taxi for about $10.00 depending on the guest's negotiation skills with the driver.
