The official currency in Jerusalem is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS). Paper currency comes in 20, 50, 100 and 200 NIS. Metal currency comes in 0.5, 1, 2, 5 and 10 NIS. Currencies of foreign countries can be converted into Israeli Shekel at exchange offices and banks in accordance with the daily exchange rate. Currencies such as U.S. Dollar and Euro are accepted by large shops, hotels and restaurants.
If you are visiting Jerusalem from abroad, don't forget that the dialing code is +972 (which replace the 0) Jerusalem has 02 as code, if you call from outside you should not dial the 0. If you want to access the internet through your international line (3G), be aware that your network will charge you to access your data while you are in Jerusalem.
